Hello, my name is Kara Lock VanRoekel

I'm an accessibility expert, a designer, a researcher, and a teacher.

I am passionate about accessibility, and work every day to help my clients achieve their accessibility and user experience goals.

My background is in human-computer interaction. I have worked in the user experience field for nearly 20 years, with a focus on digital accessibility, WCAG 2.1 and section 508, ARIA, inclusive design, usability, and team training on advanced accessibility and design concepts.

I currently live in Issaquah, WA, and work for Level Access as an accessibility services manager. When not working on accessibility and user research, I like to spend time with my husband and our cats, enjoy exploring the Pacific Northwest, am involved in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) as a fencer, and am an avid photographer.
